The team from DIRTY SEXY MONEY have been putting together weekly podcasts about what’s going on with the Darling clan (and friends) and I wanted to pass along this week’s latest episode.
In this week’s Dirty Sexy Podcast, William Baldwin (“Patrick Darling”) and Candis Cayne (“Carmelita”) talk about Carmelita’s return; the Darling clan gets out the vote for Patrick Darling; and Nola Lyons (Lucy Liu) and Jeremy Darling (Seth Gabel) share a very steamy shower scene in the exclusive sneak peak at “The Silence” episode, airing Wednesday, October 29 (10:01-11:00 p.m. ET/PT) on ABC.
It’s time for Episode 6!! Halloween is fast approaching and we recall some of our favorite Halloween themed episodes of TV and come up with TV-based costume ideas. Then we tackled many of the shows from the past week of prime time including The Amazing Race, Desperate Housewives, Dexter, Californication, Easy Money, Chuck, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, Heroes, My Own Worst Enemy, House, Privileged, Fringe, Eli Stone, Pushing Daisies, Private Practice, The Office, Supernatural, Ugly Betty, Grey’s Anatomy, Life, and The Ex List.
Next week we’ll be discussing shows we wish were still on the air. If you’d like to add to the discussion or you just have comments or suggestions for us, give the TVx3 Listener Line a call at 213-985-3176.
Benjamin Bratt’s series (THE CLEANER on A&E) about William Banks, the ultimate “Cleaner” for folks whose addictions have gotten the better of them, has been picked up by A&E for a second season, as reported by Michael Ausiello this morning.
Let’s take a minute to step away from TV. We’re getting close to a big day of change in our nation. Hopefully, you’re all registered and you’ll be at the polls next Tuesday casting your vote.
I know it’s not my place to to tell you who to vote for. I’m just begging you to vote. Our friends at GAP are doing just that as well -
As we approach our nation’s climactic presidential election, Gap has expanded upon its celebration of individual expression to inspire individual action which your readers can take part in!
In support of the campaign, Gap has partnered with well-known and emerging celebrities (including Perez Hilton, Minka Kelly, Kristen Bell, and others) who have expressed their personal reasons for voting, which you can view via the Vote For microsite: http://www.gap.com/votefor (also available via YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/GapVoteFor)
Follow the jump for HEROES’ Kristen Bell expressing her “Vote for…” and some more exclusive GAP “Vote For” possibilities on Facebook!
In a move that actually shows promise for (and NBC’s faith in) one of my favorite shows, LIFE, NBC has decided to move it to Wednesdays, sandwiched between new hit KNIGHT RIDER and established legacy LAW & ORDER on their new “Crime Night.” I think this could mean great things for LIFE.
Ratings loser LIPSTICK JUNGLE moves to Fridays at 10 (aka the death slot), effective this coming Friday night (I hate the thought of not seeing Robert Buckley on a weekly basis).
There has been a lot of reaction (good and bad and the usz) from the SUPERNATURAL fans after last night’s episode that implied Jensen Ackles’ Dean was some sort of jackass and that’s why he contracted the illness. Eric Kripke, the show’s creator and executive producer had some words of wisdom that he wanted us pass along to ease fans’ worries!
So I’ve never before responded directly to the fandom’s comments about an episode, and I don’t plan to make a habit of it, but I couldn’t resist dropping in a thought about the episode “Yellow Fever.”
Which is this:
Dean is not a dick.
None of the writers, or anyone on the creative team of Supernatural, think Dean’s ever been a dick, past, present, or future. He’s a hero. Dean did NOT contract the ghost sickness because he’s a dick. Victims contract the illness because they use “fear as a weapon.” Dean asks Lilith at the episode’s end, “why did I get infected?” And she cryptically responds, “you know why. Listen to your heart.” We, as the writers, probably should have emphasized this mystery more, I take responsibility for that omission. But the point is: the reason he was infected is because of a SECRET he’s keeping. A dark secret that will be revealed in Episode 10. And not at all because of any dickishness, implied or otherwise.
Thanks, gang.
Didn’t get a chance to see Jensen’s brilliant lip sync to Survivor’s Eye of the Tiger? Check it out here:
I’m not sure what I need to do to get you guys to pay attention to this amazing show. Please watch PUSHING DAISIES tonight. And tell your friends to watch. KNIGHT RIDER got a full season. It doesn’t need any more viewers right now. I’m a little desperate!
Stop whatever you’re doing right now and head home to set your TiVo or your DVR or your PVR or your VCR and make sure you’re recording FRINGE and THE MENTALIST and DANCING WITH THE STARS. Why? Because you’re going to do me a solid and watch PRIVILEGED live at 9PM on The CW!
Developed for television by the illustrious Rina Mimoun of EVERWOORD famile (among others, read my interview at The TV Addict), the show tells the tale of Megan Smith, a Yale graduate who heads to Palm Beach to tutor two spoiled heiresses.
It’s smart, and romantic, and fun, and beautiful, and very similar to our favorite shows from the past – DAWSON’S, GILMORE GIRLS, EVERWOOD, JACK AND JILL. It has quickly become one of the only hours during the week where I rush home and sit my butt down and focus on only this show.
Tune in tonight and let us know what you think. After the jump, check out the folks that you’re missing week after week! Read the rest of this entry »
Up north, there’s a fantastic show airing right now that I wish we had down here – it’s called HEARTLAND and it’s about a family of horse riders (The Flemings) who have learned to deal, in many different ways, with the loss of their mother/wife, and all that it means to be without her. It’s really well done, inspiring work. I had a chance to speak with one of the stars of the show last week, and I’m excited to share with you the interview. Cindy Busby, who you may have seen in Ashley Tisdale’s PICTURE THIS, plays Ashley Stanton, one of the rivals riders to the Fleming family. She is one of our FACES TO WATCH and I hope that you find a way to tune into her show - read on to hear what she has to say.
MTOT: Jumping right in, tell me about HEARTLAND.
CB: HEARTLAND is based on a series of books written by Lauren Brook who is a British author. It takes place with the main family, which is called the Fleming family. It starts off when the mother dies. Amy Fleming, who is a 15 year old girl, kind of takes on the ability that her mother had of healing horses that were abandoned or who were sick or don’t know how to act well. She’s sort of like a horse whisperer but not exactly. And I’m part of the Stanton family, which is basically the rival family. We’re the rich, competitive English riders. It’s the story of our families coming together and fighting it out!
